Welcome to the world of the Cooties
Thanks for visiting our site! On these pages we provide information and services to the members of The Military Order of the Cootie of the United States, an organization whose primary mission is to have fun! Our purposes are to promote membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S; to promote and sustain the widows and children at the VFW National Home for Children located in Eaton Rapids, Michigan, and to provide aid and comfort to hospitalized U.S. Veterans throughout the world. Our namesake, The Great Blue Louse resides here. As you view these pages, Cooties will find information to complete their duties as well as details on what others are doing to promote our "crummy" fraternity and support our "lousy" buddies. Here you will find access to our Supply Department for the purchase of uniform items and other pieces of interest; our latest quarterly magazine; monthly reports on how we're doing and even some training and a place to leave your "footprints" or a comment about how you like this site compared to our old pages. There will be an access link to our new blog pages, and even a call-in, talk radio-type show. If you are not a member of the MOC, but would like some information on how you might be selected to join our crummy band, there's a very brief history as well as info on how to take the next steps. So, welcome! We hope that you'll enjoy your visit.

SECTION 108 OF SUPREME BY-LAWS
HAS BEEN CHANGED
The 91st Supreme Scratch approved the change to Section 108 of the Supreme By-Laws, effectively eliminating the Admission Fee from the MOC. The Extension Fee of $1.00 remains in place. This fee, known over the years as the Initiation Fee, or New Member Fee was set as the cost to produce the Basic Member Hat, and lately was $40.00. This hat will still need to be purchased, but from this point on will be at the Supply Department price. The second proposal on this change would have set the initiation fee at a flat $20.00 but it was eliminated by this change. New members will now pay the $9.00 Supreme Per Capita Tax, the Grand Per Capita Tax and the $2.00 extension fee to their Grand Quartermaster for each new member. New members will then be required to purchase a model 201 New Members Hat and Tassels and a collar pin at Supply Department Pricing. Supreme Supply Department will now also have a new item that can be purchased in bulk by Pup Tents so that they can present a cover for their head while they wait for their Cootie hat to arrive. You can check this item out at the Supply Depot. Every Pup Tent Should have at least 5 on hand to present to new nits and graybacks upon their achievement of these degrees.
SUPREME HEADQUARTERS TO REOPEN
Supreme Headquarters, which closed for the 91st Supreme Scratch will be open for business on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 9:00 AM EDT. Office Staff will be in the office Thursday and Friday, but they will be unpacking from the convention and completing a supply department inventory so that sold out items can be reordered. Cooties are asked to refrain from calling those days as we may not hear the phone ringing while we are completing these tasks. Headquarters will be closed on Monday September 6th for Labor Day, so we will reopen on Tuesday.
